- Fixed Arms - Fixed arms utilize plastic arm posts and an integrally colored thermoplastic urethane pad with a glass-filled nylon insert. These arms do not adjust.
- Height Adjustable Arms - The 4" range of adjustment on Height Adjustable arms spans from 5.5" to 9.5" inches high. Grey plastic armposts feature integrally colored thermoplastic urethane pads with glass filled nylon inserts.
- High Performance Arms - High performance arms add width and depth adjustability to the height adjustable arms. Pads slide inwards, outwards, forwards, and back, floating in an orbital motion with locked stops. The High Performance armposts are made of aluminum.
The unique, magnet mounted Life chair lumbar support allows for personalized positioning, and the slow-recovery foam helps to disperse pressure evenly. The adjustable lumbar support is available in your choice of three fabrics: Black, Glam and Poise.

Ergonomic Chair Pro’s in-house Ergonomist recommends
While the Adjustable Lumbar Support is an option and not a standard feature, I highly recommend adding the lumbar support to your Knoll Life chair. Our Ergonomic Chair Criteria includes Lumbar Support as a necessary component for a fully ergonomic chair.
The Life chair is available with three different height cylinders. Most users will want to select the recommended Standard cylinder. If you have questions about fitting a chair to your height please call us.
- Standard Cylinder - offers seat height adjustment range from 16" to 21.5" from floor to center of the seat.
- Low Cylinder - offers seat height adjustment range from 15" to 19". Appropriate for smaller users or users under 5'2".
- Tall Cylinder - offers seat height adjustment range from 15" to 19". Appropriate for taller users or users over 6'2"
Knoll has a number of caster options available for the Life chair, allowing users to match color and floor type when building their chair. Select from the colors below, and look for both standard (for carpeted floors) and soft (for hardwood floors) caster options when checking out.

Select from plastic or aluminum bases for your Knoll Life chair.
